Get Out of your own way!

Since I have become a certified personal trainer, my purpose has been surrounded on teaching/educating and influencing others towards a stronger, healthier lifestyle. I am so passionate about the knowledge that I have that I want to scream from the rooftops to the whole world.

Jeremy and I have embarked on a personal development journey this past year in hopes of becoming a better version of ourselves to help inspire, lift and care for others surrounding our passions and knowledge.

I'm currently sitting in a hotel in San Diego where I'm able to take in all the ideas, visions, goals and successes of others who portray their lives as an influencer, and I realized within our first morning session of conference that I WAS DOING IT ALL WRONG!

That's never an easy pill to swallow. But I am doing some things right. I wanted to share both with you in hopes that it will ignite the fire within you to GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY!

What I've been doing wrong:

  1. Forgetting that not everyone KNOWS they have the same needs I do surrounding health. (caring for others, living a long, healthy life, feeling good)

  2. Playing small with my confidence in my knowledge and not openly sharing what I know in fear that I would sound judgey and salesy.

  3. Taking 'offense' that not everyone wants to hear my messages and 'like', 'comment' or 'subscribe' to my blog.

  4. TRYING TO DO IT ALL BY MYSELF.

  5. Wanting the success to come as fast as my passion.

  6. Portraying judgment over joy when others find a piece of healthful knowledge that applies to them, since it's not the whole piece.

What I've been doing right

  1. Asking for feedback from people I trust will give me honesty.

  2. Getting back up when I fall from frustration, failure and fatigue.

  3. Taking care of my physical, mental and spiritual well being while trying to help others.

  4. Balancing my life as an influencer, wife, mother, friend and personal trainer.

  5. Continually seeking education through conferences, webinars, podcasts and mentors.

One of the biggest roadblocks we face in our lives is ourselves. We don't dream big enough, we play too small, we doubt our abilities/education, we fear others seeing us fail, we don't get up unless we know we will come back really strong.

I'm here to tell you, STOP! Stop listening to the nagging voices from others or within your own head that tell you not to put your voice into the world. That tell you that you don't know enough to help people. That you aren't the best (cause someone will always know more than you anyways). That you don't have what it takes to make it happen.

"You will never be great unless you start with 'good enough.'"

-Rachel Hollis, Influencer 2019

I have been playing too small for too long. So here it goes.......

I want to invite YOU to care better for the beautiful gift of the body which you have been given.

I want to invite YOU to stop dieting; it doesn't work and it doesn't create a lifestyle of healthy choices.

I want to invite YOU to eat foods that reward your body. Fruits, vegetables, grass-fed beef, antibiotic free chicken/eggs, full fat unpasteurized milk/cheese, whole grains and small portions of added sugar.

I want to invite YOU to exercise a minimum of 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week.

I want to invite YOU to sleep 7-8 hours a night.

I want to invite YOU to drink half your weight in ounces of water. No more energy drinks, coffee, added sugary drinks or soda.

I want to invite YOU to connect with your spirit, God, universe, whomever you believe in which is above yourself. For me it's God that propels me toward spiritual strength.

I want to invite YOU to forgive yourself, forgive others and move forward.

I want to invite YOU to join with ME in sharing this message to become a better world of positivity, joy, courage and strength. Please share this with anyone you feel will appreciate it!

The worst thing that we could ever do for ourselves is NOTHING. Start with something! Don't try and switch everything all at once if you need to, start small, then get bigger! Stop making the excuses that it's too easy, too hard, too expensive, too easy, too time-consuming, etc. DO SOMETHING for yourself, take care of it, so you can be an influence for others!
